Though Adventure Christian Church held its first worship service on Easter Sunday in 1994, in the cafeteria of Rocklin High School in Roseville, California, its story began half a year earlier. Adventure's Senior Pastor, Rick Stedman, along with his wife and their children, moved to Roseville in 1993 with scant resources and a desire to start a useful ministry. After he recognized a persisting problem of drug abuse by the community's youth, Rick Stedman published the pamphlet "How to Drug Proof Your Kids," which he distributed from a card table at local Walmarts and other retail stores. By January of the following year, parents and others he had met over his card table had formed four ministry groups that met at a local community space and laid the foundations for what would grow into today's Adventure Christian Church.

In 1998, Adventure Christian Church acquired a beautiful 41-acre location with assistance from the city of Roseville. Soon after, a two-story building housing administrative offices, a 500-seat auditorium (now the youth auditorium), and a nursery was constructed. By 2002, the church had 11 worship services a weekend, so in 2003, during the second building phase, the church erected a 3,000-seat worship auditorium to accommodate its rapidly expanding congregation.

Adventure Christian Church hosts multiple adult, youth, and community ministries built around Biblical principles and the desire to care for others. The church conducts a variety of courses for adult members through its University of Life. In this program, Christian instructors offer multi-week courses such as "Skeptics Club"; "Marriage Class: Love & Respect"; and Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University. Throughout the week, Adventure also sponsors activities and ministries for children in grades 3 through 12, as well as a ministry for college students and young adults on Sunday evenings.

Adventure Christian Church holds traditional worship services for adults on Saturday evenings (6 p.m.) and Sunday mornings (9 a.m. and 11 a.m.) with infant and toddler Bible classes and childcare available to parents through the Children's Ministry Center.
